It all started with a concept ...
Raphael Berry has been an interior architect and designer for 38 years. He is a graduate of the prestigious school, L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, and he began his career designing homes and restoring historic houses.
On November 21, 1986, Raphael relocated to Los Angeles. He opened a design gallery in Silverlake, and he was soon involved in the opening of many of Los Angeles’ most visible night-spots of the times, including “Paris Boom Boom”, “La Cage aux Folles”, and “Castelle”.
In 1996, Raphael Berry envisioned a new concept. A Mediterranean/Italian eatery serving and delivering a full menu — featuring a signature 20” hand tossed pizza, until four o’clock in the morning. Drawing on his background in design and his years of restaurant and club experience, Raphael acquired a small Italian restaurant on W. 3rd Street and, within 3 months, he opened berri’s to the public.
The food and atmosphere of berri’s caught the attention immediately, and ultimately the hours, the music and the late night ambiance created by Raphael made berri’s into the iconic LA feature it has become.
Today, Raphael Berry’s company has expanded into two separate franchise entities.
The original berri's launched internationally, in Abu Dhabi, soon to be followed by berri’s Dubai and berri’s Paris.
berri’s Kitchen, a fast and fresh take-out and delivery spin-off concept, located in Hollywood and Westwood.
